Testimonials

Kudos from our Summer Camps

“It was such a pleasure hosting Ed Krass’ College Tennis Academy (CTA) here at Wesleyan for the first time. As he always does, Coach Krass assembled an extraordinary group of head college coaches and the weekend was filled with the CTA’s infectious blend of great tennis, so much camaraderie, a little bit of rock and roll, and a whole lot of fun. The participants learned a ton and came away from the weekend with tools to grow every aspect of their tennis – and with a new network of college coaches and friends from around the world.”
– Wesleyan University Head Coach, Mike Fried, ITA National Coach of the Year 2017 & 2019

“I totally believe in Ed’s College Tennis Exposure Camp and have recommended dozens and dozens of players to attend. Not only have I recommended players to attend, both my children attended the camp and made great contacts that landed them with a college team. One of the key features that I like is that only head college coaches work the camp. I like to refer to the camp as one stop shopping similar to a job fair where kids can meet at least 15 college coaches in 2 days. It’s definitely worth the investment and will save you time and money in the long run if you want your kid to play college tennis. Finally, the camp is well organized with great enthusiasm from Ed and his staff. I highly recommend this camp!”
– Andy Gladstone, former USTA Florida Player Development Coordinator for 19 years

“I want to express to you my heartfelt THANK YOU! What a GREAT college tennis exposure camp! You, Andrea, all the college coaches, make the weekend camp exceptional, well worth the travel, time, and experience. I speak for me and my daughter Soleil, we enjoyed the college tennis exposure camp immensely! All the parents I talked with had positive remarks about the camp. I will be evangelizing your college tennis academy, from a personal experience & point of view, to as many parents & juniors as possible! You ROCK! Andrea Rock! Coaches Rock! CTA ROCKS!”
– Gale Desroisiers, Professional Tennis Coach and Parent

From College Coaches

“Ed Krass’ College Tennis Exposure Camps provide prospects with the ultimate opportunity to showcase their skills and learn from college head coaches in a fun, energetic, and inclusive environment. I’ve seen so many players succeed at the collegiate level – including at Lehigh – thanks to the knowledge they gained at the College Tennis Academy. A true championship coach, Ed Krass provides the experience of a lifetime that will greatly enhance your game as well as your access to the world of college tennis.”
– Wouter Hendrix, former Head Men’s Tennis Coach, LEHIGH University

“Ed Krass’ College Tennis Exposure Camp has been an integral part of my recruiting for over 20 years. The campers are immersed in the college team experience and unlike the showcase model which focuses on results, this camp is all about teaching, mentoring and developing the athletes. I love the format! We work with the athletes in drill sessions and coach them in team matches just like we do at the college level. I have discovered dozens of athletes who developed into elite college players at Bates at Ed’s camps. After a few days working with players, I know who will be a great fit with our culture and who has the potential to take their game to the next level. You very well could meet your future college coach at one of the Ed Krass camps.”
– Paul Gastonguay, Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach, BATES College

“For any player looking to play college tennis, Coach Krass’ College Tennis Exposure Camps provide the perfect experience. Campers get real exposure to college style practices and coaching from Head College Tennis Coaches who know what it takes to play at the college level. The experience and information these players obtain at a College Tennis Academy camp will absolutely help them navigate the college search process. No matter what their UTR, Ed Krass and his coaching staff can help any player find their perfect school. I personally love this camp because I get to see qualities in a player that go beyond the UTR and it helps me identify players who could impact my program.”
– Rebecca Helt, Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach, BLOOMSBURG University

From Students

“As someone who did not have a high ranking, College Tennis Exposure Camp gave me a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate my skillset and character to a wide variety of college coaches. Without Coach Krass’ camp, someone like me would never have been on Lehigh University’s radar. Additionally, the high pressure drills and classroom lessons set me up for success once I entered college.”
– Jeremy Kochman, Former #1 Player at Lehigh University, 2013 Patriot League Champion and a 2016 Lehigh graduate

“I learned so much from all the college coaches. I have taken the feedback provided and lessons learned and incorporated them into my game. I’m excited to see what my upcoming high school season will be like because of what I gained from your camp.
– Maddie Minio, Chester Springs, PA

“It was a great experience to practice with so many college coaches and learn from their different types of coaching. Thanks also for the emphasis on hydration–I agree that this was the number one hydration camp.”
-Alexander Nielsen, New York, NY

“Not only did I learn a lot on the court, but also in the seminars. It really motivated me and showed me that I am capable of playing at the college level. I would recommend it to anyone who is even considering playing in college. I so appreciate the opportunity to meet you and all the coaches, and make invaluable contacts.”
– Jack Ledford, St. Petersburg, FL

“Dear Coach Krass,
I would like to thank you for a fantastic experience last week at your USF camp. I will cherish it for the rest of my life! I just signed up for the 2 week camp at Lehigh and I can’t wait to learn more! I learned so much at the USF Camp and I thank you for creating this camp. You are so much fun and really inspiring. You taught me that if you have a goal in life, there is no reason you cannot achieve it. I came home a new player and person. I am much more confident in my game and myself. And the other Camp Coaches were amazing too! I had a lot of fun and cannot wait for the Lehigh Camp! I always love a challenge!”
– Rachelle Steele-Cerone, Lehigh Acres, FL

“Dear Coach Krass, I am finally back in France after my week at your USF Camp. Your camp was an amazing experience and was surely the best camp I did in my life….I really enjoyed it! For a foreigner like me, I learned a lot about College Tennis and what team spirit is all about. The atmosphere with the players, coaches and you was incredible! I’m even being recruited now by several coaches who were at your camp. Thanks, again, for a great experience!”
-Tadju Davies

The camp not only helped tennis wise, but hit helped me understand the college tennis recruiting process and the life of a collegiate athlete.”

– Richard Paden, Glenview, IL

“Dear Ed,
I needed to thank you and express how wonderful my son Kyle’s experience at your camp this summer was for him. From your staff’s warm greetings upon our arrival to their engaging professional demeanor, the whole week’s experience was truly a transformative one on so many levels for Kyle.” “As a senior who is seriously looking at colleges for next year, the training, critiquing & lectures from all of the marvelous college coaches was invaluable for his search & collegiate tennis career moving forward. In fact, Kyle said that your camp was the “highlight” of his summer! My sincerest gratitude for the level of dedication & care you take in making each & every one of the students feel special & wonderful memories & encouragement you leave them with.”
-Rev Valerie & Dr Stuart Gower
“I just wanted you to know that Ian had a great time/experience at your College Tennis Exposure Camp. He spoke so highly of your program and the staff there. I think it helped open my son’s views on college tennis and gave him more confidence in his abilities. I know the whole college tennis recruiting process is daunting and finding the right balance for academics and tennis is tough. This is a start for our family with Ian being the first child going through this. I do have a daughter who will start high school next year and also plays USTA tennis. I look forward to sending her to your program as well. You made me and my family feel very comfortable with this whole process. It was not easy for my wife to send Ian by himself to Florida for this camp. She’s happy now that we did it.”
-Jeff Kim
“My son, Jesse, has attended the College Tennis Academy at Lehigh University for three straight summers in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Each summer Jesse returned with growth in his game that was unparalleled compared to other camps, clinics, programs and showcases he has attended over the years. Not only was the instruction and oversight excellent but having the chance to meet and establish relationships with college coaches was unlike any other experience. The gains in his confidence, mental game, and skills were tremendous. The best part was that Jesse thoroughly enjoyed the intensive tennis focus and meeting kids from all over the country, some of whom he continues to stay in touch with. Over the past three years Jesse has remarked on several occasions how your camp was the best overall tennis experience during his life, and keep in mind he is comparing this to many other camps and clinics throughout the years.”
– Dr Steven Richfield, Child Psychologist
“What your camps do so well is encourage every player – no matter what their level – to be the best they can be. Your knowledge of the game, technical expertise and most of all, the enthusiasm you pass on to the campers is unrivaled.”
-Peter Kendall, Father of Will Kendall, former camper and former Varsity player at the University of Indiana
“Dear Ed,
I wanted once again to compliment you on running an exemplary program for aspiring college tennis players.
My son attended the first session at Lehigh during the summer of 2008 and he had an unparalleled experience there. In fact, he marks that week as one of the best of his entire life. The coaching staff was superlative, and was generous with time, attention and mentoring. Although my son has been playing tennis for many years and has had the benefit of some wonderful coaches previously, it was during the week at Ed Krass tennis camp that he made a quantum leap in his game both physically and mentally. I would have to also comment on the developmental growth that I observed after his return from your camp. His insights into his mental game and emotional barriers that had interfered with optimal playing were as valuable as any lesson in serve or groundstroke could have been.
Thank you again for a wonderful experience that we all shared via your camp. And also thanks for your ongoing support and encouragement as we finalize our choices for college and tennis.”
-Sara Merwin
“Dear Mr. Krass,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving my daughter Samantha a wonderful experience this past week at Brown. Samantha was thrilled with the program from beginning to end. She found the instruction to be invaluable – incomparable to anything that she has been exposed to over her past five years as a tennis player. She was excited to reiterate all of the strategic tips imparted by you and your coaching staff, chatting for the entire four hour trip home. Likewise, she thoroughly enjoyed learning the “one on one doubles” game, and looks forward to practicing and playing it. She could not believe how her volley improved in just five days!
Thank you for your and your coaches’ terrific knowledge, instruction and energy! Samantha hopes to be able to join your camp again next summer.”
– Judy Gann

“Coach Krass,
My daughter, Renee, attended your college tennis exposure camp last week at USF. She has not stopped talking about her experience since.
When first introduced to your camp, I was skeptical. So many tennis camps proclaim to be the best at what they do and promise an exciting and fulfilling experience. Meanwhile, mom and dad scramble to pay the exorbitant cost only to find that their child learned very little. After several nudges, I took the leap of faith and sent Renee away for a week.

Renee (nka “R – D”) is one of those kids that became interested in tennis late in her life, but has devoted herself to the sport ever since. Her tournament experience is non-existent compared to those kids that have been swinging a racquet since birth. Yet her dream is to play college tennis and she is willing to make huge sacrifices to accomplish this task (this dream being second only to one day becoming a great doctor responsible for finding cures to diseases that most of us will never be able to pronounce). Her ranking in Florida is inconsistent with her skill, as is her tennis recruiting status on a website that apparently every coach in the free world reviews to measure a child’s recruitability.”

“At least this is what she has been told by several coaches who have come to know her. She has had her share of heartbreaking news that she is not interesting as a recruit because of a number which has been attached to her name. The minute “R – D” arrived at USF, her eyes lit up and a crooked little smile took up residence on her freckled face. This was going to be a great adventure. And so it was.”

“From beginning to end, this kid had the time of her life. My two hour ride home was full of intricate details including descriptive tennis drills to the “do’s and don’ts” of calling college coaches to personality profiles of the excellent coaching staff that assisted in making your camp an uplifting and incredible experience. You were affectionately described as an “Eveready Bunny” due to your non-stop (positive) energy. Renee bonded with many of the coaches during her short stay and came home overwhelmed with relief because she had been given a chance to work hard and be recognized by many wonderful coaches in our tennis community. With a bit more hard work and some luck, she may realize her dream next year.”

“So, thanks for putting together such a great program and thanks to those coaches that make the experience unforgettable. I believe it has helped Renee immensely in setting her goals and taking responsibility for her future in tennis and in life.”

His program is much overdue!”
